Holiday here we come

Went on a short trip holiday recently to our favorite place, Langkawi for the uhm ... I've lost count how many times we've been here.

In fact, had our 1st and 2nd (adakah such term hehehe?) honeymoon here... I loved it here ,well, firstly for being a duty free shopping haven (for me , that is ~ think chocolate, perfume, cookery (huh?) and clothes) and secondly, for being such a nice place, of course!

Anyway, since we are here for 3 days and 2 nites only and this is Baby's first time here , we didnt managed to do much. However, we went up on the Cable Car, had a swell feeding time at the Deer (gila, the rusa punya jinak) and Rabbit Park and visited the Waterworld.

Work hard, play harder

I cried today. It was a sad day.
A friend had a minor stroke this morning. I knew she had health problems but hearing the news shocked me, still.
Later, we found out that she was stressed over work and her current personal life was not helping at all, as well.

Nevertheless, everything happens for a reason. Our obstacles are what makes us strong.

I hear you dear friend, and will be there when you need me. Get well soon!

Enjoy life while you can .. to die over work is not worthwhile

I dream of ....

Its good to know that some friends have achieved what they have dreamt of. I'm happy for them . At the same time I felt a tinge of envyness.
Because you have seen the world.
Because you have a mission and because you know you will achieved it and you look forward in achieving it.

I, on the other hand, have stop dreaming for a long time now. Soon as I have signed my commitment on that piece of paper, all dreams that I ever have had to be shelved and never to be open again until the time comes or permits.

Life has to change according to the teaching. Devotion and respect must be ultimate to one guy, seconds after Allah.

Alas, all sacrifisation has been taken for granted. Or is there Hope?

Hi. Its been a while.

A lot have happened since my last blog entry.

A close relative had passed away.
A relative had been infected with some viral flu/attack and had fits. I dont know, could it be H141, meningitis, influenza A, influenza B or leptrospirosis? The doctor wouldnt confirm which one...Thank God, everything's fine now.
Its scary with so many 'flu' type diseases thats out there waiting and waiting.....could it be a sign of the end of the world as in the Quran?
The best ever babysitter at the new nursery had left. To date, 4 babysitters have come and go in a span of 5 months. Sigh!

Its been a hectic month.

Easy Peasy

I always thought that you must have an oven to bake a cake until my colleague gave this recipe. It's very easy to make. You dont have to have an oven to bake this cake, a steamer will do. Plus, saves electricity bills! Hehhehe

Mixed Fruit Steamed Cake
Ingredients:
1 bar of butter
5 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1/2 tin of condensed milk
2 cups of self raising flour (or wheat flour + bicarbonate soda)
any dried fruits e.g prunes, dates, etc (I used mixed fruits) ~ chopped roughly

Method:
Prepare the steamer
Soften the butter and whisked with sugar until fluffy.
Then, add in the eggs, whisked again
Add in the condensed milk.
Next, add in the flour and whisked.
Lastly, put in the dried fruits. Mixed well.
Steam for 1 hour.

Voila!
You can also decorate it with icing .....

Buttercream icing extracted from http://www.wilton.com/recipe/Buttercream-Icing
Ingredients:
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine softened
1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (approximately 1 lb.)
2 tablespoons milk
Makes: About 3 cups of icing.

Instructions (Medium Consistency) :
In large bowl, cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.

For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.

For thin (spreading) consistency icing, add 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk.
For Pure White Icing (stiff consistency), omit butter; substitute an additional 1/2 cup shortening for butter and add 1/2 teaspoon No-Color Butter Flavor. Add up to 4 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk to thin for icing cakes.

Sorry for the digression.

But, where's the fun in it if you dont get your hands dirty , right? Bah, you know lah IT era nie, it is only make sense when you do it digitally. Wink wink wink

Check out the websites on my sidebar. Pretty interesting. You must see it to appreciate it.

Stay tune for my scrapbook project !
